Description

Severn Lodge is a house built around 1830, constructed of painted brick with a Welsh slate roof. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring a high gabled wing and a two-window range that faces the street, with the wing being the main part of the house. Designed in the Tudor Gothic style, it includes a four-centred arched door with sidelights and a hoodmould that has label stops, located to the left of the long range facing the street. The upper windows are wood mullioned and transomed, also with hoodmoulds, while the eaves have two-light casement windows. The left gable is coped with stepped kneelers and has a four-pane sash window.

To the right of the gable, there is a gabled porch with deep moulding around the four-centred archway, featuring drop-ended hoodmoulds with label stops and carved spandrels, topped with steep coping and a finial. The porch is glazed and leads to a doorway on the right side of the elevation. The east elevation has a single coped gable with stepped kneelers to the left, above a canted bay window with mullioned windows and a cast-iron parapet, along with a small two-light attic window. A similar gable is also present on the south elevation, which features a squared bay window on the ground floor, also with an iron parapet. At the rear of this range, there are star-shaped stacks.

Additionally, there is a length of garden wall that adjoins the property, made of painted brick with raking stone copings.
