Description
This is a barn located approximately 5 metres north-west of Little Brompton Farmhouse. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some later alterations. The barn features a weatherboarded timber frame and a graded slate roof. It has two levels, with two eaves hatches at the centre and several doors scattered around.
Inside, the framing is visible, consisting of square panels with straight tension braces. There are weatherboarded partitions with long straight tension braces, and a loft is present over the right bay. The roof is structured in four bays, with raking struts connecting the tie beams to the principal rafters, and the cambered ties have been re-used.
