Description
This building is an outbuilding and courtyard walls located 50 metres northeast of Hopton Court in Hopton Wafers. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The structure features rendered walls and a hipped slate roof, arranged in a courtyard plan with a central two-storey block flanked by single-storey projecting wings. The enclosure is completed by courtyard walls with gatepiers.
On the exterior, the central block is a two-storey range with four windows, featuring 3/3 sash windows under cambered heads on the first floor. At the ground floor, there is a central pair of restored glazed panelled doors, flanked by tall multi-pane casements. The flanking wings also have 3/3 sash windows and plain boarded doors facing the courtyard. The north wing includes a small hipped cross wing projection with an opening that has a cambered lintel with a keyblock, and a mullioned sash window in the outward-facing projection.
The cobbled courtyard is enclosed by rendered walls that have a plain plinth and stone copings. Square piers with pyramid caps flank the entrance. The interior has not been inspected.
