Description
Manor Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, constructed with a timber frame, a brick plinth, and painted rendered infill. It features a partly old tiled roof and has a large projecting stone rubble stack at the rear with a brick shaft. The building has a two-bay front range with a rear wing.
The exterior is two stories high. The street-facing side is timber-framed with square framing that includes posts with middle rails and tension braces at each end. The first floor jetties out, supported by a moulded bressumer and moulded feet of the jettied first-floor posts. There are three restored multi-pane casement windows on both floors, and to the left, there is a 20th-century plain boarded door. The side of the cottage is covered with corrugated sheet material, with a twin-purlin roof visible.
At the rear and on the rear wing, the first floor features square framing with brick infill, while the ground floor is underbuilt in brick. There are 20th-century casement windows and a glazed door. The end gable of the timber frame is rendered, and there is a 20th-century brick gabled two-storey extension at the rear of the rear wing.
Inside, the ceiling beams have moulded edges and stop-chamfered details.
