Description

The Manor is a house located in Hopton Wafers, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a brick dentil course at the eaves, with a hipped tiled roof and projecting eaves stacks at the rear. The front range includes both gabled and flat-roofed extensions.

The south-east front is a three-storey structure with three windows. It has 6/6 sash windows with stone lintels and projecting keyblocks at the first floor. The central sash on the second floor has a round head that rises into a brick pediment, flanked by two-light casements. On the ground floor, there are two early 19th-century bay windows with 4/4:6/6:4/4 sashes in wooden frames, with stone lintels from earlier sashes visible above the bays. These bays flank a central doorcase with Tuscan columns that support an open pediment. The doorcase features a re-entrant fanlight with radial and festoon glazing bars and a six-panelled partly glazed door set within panelled reveals.

On the right (south) side, there is a restored 6/6 sash window at the first floor, with a two-light casement above and a ground-floor bay window. The rear of the house has two- and three-storey gabled extension bays with restored sashes, which are now partly covered by a 20th-century two-storey rear extension. There are also outbuildings attached to the right side of the property. The interior has not been inspected.
