Description

Hopton Bridge is an early 19th-century road bridge located in Hopton Wafers. It is constructed of sandstone ashlar and carries the A4117 over Mill Brook. The bridge features a 5-metre span round arch supported by ashlar abutments that create a deep channel. The arch is made of ashlar voussoirs and includes a string course and parapet. Each side of the arch is buttressed, and the parapets end in round piers with a scroll plan-form. The parapet has rounded coping.
