7/133 Range of Cowhouses - approximately 20 metres to North of Colesty Farmhouse

GV II

Cowhouses. C18 and early C19. Long range of farmbuildings aligned North-South of coursed limestone rubble, with corrugated iron roof to North and weatherboarded timber framed front and stone slate roof to South. One storey and loft. Right-hand part with loft opening and two 2-leaf boarded ground floor doors to left [probably formerly 3 but right- hand corner partially collapsed at time of resurvey (October 1984)]; left-hand part has gabled loft semi-dormer with boarded door and ground floor window to right with boarded door to left. Interior: right-hand part retains stalls and mangers; peculiar roof trusses in which the principal rafters do not appear to meet the tie-beam at the wall plate.
