Description

Bryn Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the mid to late 19th century. It is probably timber framed and has been rebuilt or refaced in limewashed coursed limestone rubble, topped with a graded stone slate roof. The building has a hall and cross-wing plan, consisting of one storey and an attic.

A large central stone ridge stack is present, along with an external brick stack located at the angle of the 'hall' range and the cross-wing at the front. There is a two-storey gabled porch that is off-centre to the left, featuring a 19th-century first-floor two-light casement window and a four-panelled door with the top panels glazed. On the ground floor of the 'hall' range to the left, there is a 19th-century three-light casement window. The projecting cross wing to the right has a wide gable, typical of the late 16th and 17th centuries in this area, and includes a 19th-century three-light casement window in the attic and a three-light casement window on the ground floor in the left-hand return front. The interior has not been inspected, but it is likely to contain features of interest.
