Description
This is a range of cow houses located to the east of Reilth Farmhouse, dating from the mid-18th century and late 19th century, consisting of two parts under one ridge. The structure is built from coursed limestone rubble, featuring a stone slate roof on the left side and a corrugated iron roof on the right.
The left-hand section has three boarded loft doors and three ground floor doors, which include one- and two-light boarded doors, with casements flanking the left-hand door and a window to the right of the right-hand door. The right-hand section includes a boarded loft door on the left, two boarded doors on the left, and a window to the right. The left gable end features tallet steps.
At the rear, there is a range of pigsties attached at right angles. Inside, the left part from the 18th century has collar and tie-beam trusses with queen struts and V-struts, while the 19th-century part features machine-sawn king-post trusses.
