Description

This is a headstone commemorating John Penney, located 4 metres south of the Church of St John the Baptist in Hope Bagot. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of ashlar stone. The headstone features an inscribed panel adorned with incised foliage and has a double ogee and roll-shaped top. It commemorates John Penney, the son of Ben Janone Penney and his wife Hanna, who died in 1729.
