Description
Nos. 19-22 Acton Burnell is a row of four cottages dating from the 17th century, which were remodeled and extended in the mid-19th century. The cottages are timber framed with painted brick nogging and brick featuring painted imitation timber framing, topped with a plain tile roof. They are one storey high with an attic and have five gabled eaves dormers that contain 2-light wooden-framed metal casements and shaped barge boards. There are four brick ridge stacks. The front has seven windows, including one-, two-, and four-light wooden casements, some of which have transoms. To the right, there are two boarded doors, and to the left, there are two three-panelled doors, one of which has a glazed top panel. Each door is sheltered by a 19th-century gabled timber porch with chamfered posts, curved braces, and a boarded tympanum featuring shaped barge boards. The interiors have not been inspected, but Nos. 19 and 20 are likely to be of interest.
