Description

This is a row of four cottages located on Coton Hill in Shrewsbury. The facade dates to around 1800, but the cottages likely have an earlier core, possibly from the 17th century. They are built with a brick frame over timber, and have a plain tiled roof.

The cottages are two storeys high with a four-window front. Each cottage has a pair of four-panelled doors, each with a single, cambered brick head. The outer windows on the ground floor are 16-pane sashes, while the inner windows are 10-pane sashes with flat-arched, gauged brick surrounds. The upper windows are 12-pane sashes. There is a central archway leading to a passageway. A dentilled eaves band runs along the building. Dormer windows are set into the roof, and there are end and central chimney stacks.
