Description
The Wolfe/Jennings memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 8 meters north of the north chancel chapel of the Church of St. Oswald in Oswestry. It dates from around 1805 and is made of painted sandstone. The tomb is rectangular with sides that taper outward. It features a moulded plinth and capping. On the north side, there is a moulded inscription panel that commemorates Thomas Jennings of Penyl(l)an, who died in 1805. The other three sides have retrospective inscriptions dedicated to members of the Wolfe family, also from Penyllan, while the top ledger includes inscriptions for members of the Jennings family.
