Description

The Jones memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 35 meters west of the west end of the nave of the Church of St. Oswald. It dates from around 1827 and is made of sandstone. The tomb is rectangular in shape and features a moulded plinth and capping, along with panelled corner pilasters. The top ledger is chamfered and has a small chamfered projection. On the north side, there is a moulded inscription panel that commemorates William Jones, an ironmonger who died in 1827.
