Description
No. 45 Church Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It was built around 1800 and has undergone later additions and alterations. The building is made of red brick and features a slate roof with a stack positioned behind the ridge to the left of the center. It stands three storeys high and has a moulded plaster eaves cornice. The front has three windows, which are glazing bar sashes with plain stone lintels and cills. The 19th-century shop front has fluted consoles at the corners and has been significantly altered in the 20th century. To the right, there is a flat-arched passageway. Notably, there is a good wrought-iron ornamental scrolled bracket for a former shop sign located between the left and center windows on the first floor.
