Description

The Oak Inn is an early 19th-century house, now an inn, located on Church Street in Oswestry. The building is constructed of painted brick with a slate roof. It is two storeys high and has a dentilled eaves cornice. The first floor has two horizontal sliding sash windows. On the ground floor, a slightly bowed multi-paned casement window is centrally located with a half-glazed door to the right, both set within a moulded surround featuring carved rose emblems supported on decorated scrolled brackets. A boarded door provides access to a passageway on the left. A long brick range extends at right angles to the rear. The building is included on the heritage register for its group value.
