Description
This barn, located approximately 14 metres to the north-east of The Malt House, is likely from the 16th century. It features a timber frame of cruck construction that is weatherboarded and clad in corrugated iron, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn consists of three framed bays, with wall framing made up of square panels extending from the sole plate to the wall plate. On the south-east side, there are two boarded doors, and a lean-to addition is present on the right. The north-west side has missing cladding, except for a central boarded former loft door. Inside, there are three full cruck trusses that include tie-beams and collars, with at least one truss truncated above the collar. Cross-framing is found between the bays, supported by sole-plates on low dividing walls. The south-west truss has a collar and tie-beam, along with queen struts and v-struts. The Malt House is not included in this listing.
