Description

This barn, located approximately 10 metres north of Castle Hill Farmhouse, dates from the mid- to late 17th century and has some 19th-century alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame with red brick nogging at the rear, a brick and sandstone rubble plinth, and a corrugated iron roof. The barn consists of three framed bays with square panels extending from the sole plate to the wall plate. It is one storey high with a loft, which includes a central 20th-century raking loft-dormer. There is a boarded door to the right and a 20th-century door off-centre to the left. This barn is part of a small farmstead group that includes Castle Hill Farmhouse.
