4/221 Barn approximately - 30m north-east of Galliers Farmhouse

GV II

Barn, now store. Probably C14 or C15 with extensive later alterations. Timber framed of cruck construction, now clad in late C19 red brick and uncoursed limestone rubble with plain tile and corrugated iron roof, dentilled eaves cornice. Wide C20 entrance to left on north with four C20 casements on upper level to south. Interior: south-eastern bay open to roof with loft over remainder; 3 true cruck trusses, south-eastern one truncated, middle truss with arch bracing and Alcock apex type B and north-western truss with saddled yoke. The barn was severely damaged by fire c.1980. Alcock (1981), p.144.
