Description

The Red House is a farmhouse, now a house, built in the early 19th century with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof with axial stacks on both the left and right slopes. The building stands two storeys high and has three bays, with the central bay slightly projecting. The windows are sixteen-paned glazing-bar sashes with gauged heads. The central entrance is framed by a pedimented Tuscan doorcase that includes a half-glazed door beneath a wreathed and radiating fanlight, complete with imposts and a keystone.

Inside, the hall features a flying staircase with cast-iron balusters. The house originally had three storeys, and the current hipped roof was added in 1952.
