Description

This is a terrace of three houses located at 61 to 65 Willow Street, built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of red brick and feature a slate roof with axial ridge stacks positioned to the left of center and another stack in the roof slope between the houses, as well as an end stack on the left. The terrace is three storeys high and has a four-window front. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with 16 panes on the first floor, and they have gauged heads and stone cills.

Nos. 63 and 65 have plain pilastered doorcases, each with a six-panel door, rectangular overlights, and panelled reveals. No. 61 features a pedimented doorcase, also with a six-panel door, and has a 19th-century shop window to the left, which includes a 20th-century top-hung casement window. There is a wide boarded-over shop window to the left of the door to No. 63, and two infilled window openings with gauged heads to the right of the entrance to No. 65. Notably, No. 65 is built on the site of Willow Gate, which was part of the town walls and was removed in 1782.
