OSWESTRY C.P. WILLOW STREET (south-west side) Nos. 53 and 55

GV II House, latterly divided into two shops, with right-hand part now reverted to domestic accommodation. Early C19 with later additions and alterations. Red brick, slate roof with ridge stack to centre. Three storeys; two window front, glazing bar sashes with gauged heads (16-paned to first floor); late C20 shop front to left and late C20 sash window and door to right. Full-height hip-roofed projection at right-angles to rear.

No. 55 was the birthplace of the composer, Sir Henry Walford Davies [Master of the King's Music (1939-41)] in 1869 (plaque).
