Description
39-45 Lower Street is a terrace of four houses built around 1830. The houses are constructed from brick with a slate roof and feature brick stacks. They have a double-depth plan and are two storeys high, with a five-window range. The ground floor windows have rubbed brick flat arches, and all windows are fitted with 12-pane sashes. The entrances are round-headed, with six-fielded-panelled doors; however, No 39 has a 20th-century door with an oval light. The entrances to Nos 43 and 45 include fanlights with decorative glazing bars, while the central round-headed entry features a blind fanlight and a blind window above that is painted to resemble a sash. There are two cross-axial stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
