Description

The Old Farmhouse, now divided into two houses, dates from the late 17th or early 18th century, with later alterations. It is built of brick with some plaster, and has a tile roof with brick end stacks. The two-storey elevation to Lower Street has a symmetrical three-window range and a central projecting porch. A brick band runs across the ground and first floors, topped by a coved cornice. The ground floor windows are early 19th-century twelve-pane sashes in moulded frames, while the first floor retains 18th-century wooden cross-mullioned windows. The porch has small windows, and two 20th-century gabled dormers light the attic. A six-panel door is located on the right return of the porch. The right return includes a rear wing and some plastering to the ground floor. The windows on this elevation are 20th-century casements, and an entrance under a gabled canopy has a six-fielded-panel door. A single-storey addition is present at one end. The interior features chamfered beams.
