Description

The Wilkes Monument, located immediately to the west of the Church of St Michael and All Angels in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, is a chest tomb dedicated to John Wilkes, who died in 1767. The monument is constructed from ashlar and features angle pilasters that stand on moulded bases. The top slab has a moulded edge, and there are fielded inscription panels, with the front panel displaying an elaborate scrolled inscription.
