Description
The Barn is a probable 17th-century barn with a rear slaughterhouse, later converted into a house in the late 20th century. It has a three-bay plan with a central threshing floor. The barn features a timber frame with two brick outshuts set beneath catslide roofs, and a brick rear wing. The entrance to the threshing floor is infilled with 20th-century plank doors, while the outshuts have inserted 20th-century windows and recessed dormers. The returns and rear elevations showcase exposed timber framing with inserted 20th-century windows. The rear wing contains a window and entrance, both with 20th-century casements and a door. The interior retains internal timber-framed walls and roof trusses with raking struts. Although converted, the building retains considerable group value.
