Description

These houses, number 2 and 3 Quality Square in Ludlow, likely date to the 16th century, although they were altered in the 18th and 20th centuries. They are constructed of rubble and have a plain tile roof, with three storeys and a basement. The front has a three-window arrangement. Two windows are 18th century, and one is 20th century. The windows are 6/6 sash windows with brick quoins and segmental brick arches. Similar sash windows are located above. The central doorway features a pair of 20th-century paneled doors within original moulded cases, protected by simple hoods resting on consoles and with moulded pilasters. To the right is a 20th-century sash window, quoins, and segmental arch over a 20th-century plank door and overlight, all under a brick arch, which provides access to the cellar. To the left is an 18th-century sash window under a brick soldier arch, over a brick arch and plank door leading to the cellar.
