Description

This milestone, dating from the late 18th century, is made of grey sandstone and features a segmental top. It is inscribed with "Salop/7/Miles," although part of the inscription was partially illegible during the survey in April 1985. The milestone is located on the west side of the Pitchford-Acton Burnell road, which was turnpiked in 1797. It is part of a complete series of milestones that includes others at Cantlopcross, Berrington, and Pitchford.
