BERRINGTON C.P. CANTLOP CROSS SJ 50 NW SJ 5184 0555 3/58 Milestone approximately - 40 metres to the south of Milestone cottage - II Milestone. Late C18. Grey sandstone with segmental top. Inscribed: "From / Salop 5 / Miles." This section of the Shrewsbury-Acton Burnell road was turnpiked in 1797. Milestone Cottage is not included in this list. V.C.H. Vol. VIII, p. 16
