Description

This milestone, located approximately 40 metres south of Milestone Cottage, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of grey sandstone and features a segmental top. The inscription reads: "From / Salop 5 / Miles." This part of the Shrewsbury-Acton Burnell road was turnpiked in 1797. Please note that Milestone Cottage is not included in this listing.
