Description
Boreton Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1782 by John Carline, with later additions and alterations mainly from the mid-19th century and 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick and features a double-span slate roof with raised verges and end stacks. It has three bays and stands three storeys tall, with a three-window front. The windows are cross-paned sashes with shaped stone heads on the first floor. On the ground floor, there are mid-19th century canted bay windows flanking a central entrance. The entrance consists of a six-panel door with a rectangular overlight, set beneath a Tuscan porch. Attached to the farmhouse are former stable blocks that have been significantly altered, particularly the one on the right, which has extensive 20th-century additions. However, these stable blocks still retain blind elliptical arches on the ground floor front.
