Description

This cowhouse and stable, located about 12 metres northeast of Lower Spoad, is likely from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and has a slate roof. The building is aligned east-west and is adjacent to the Lower Spoad cruck barn to the northeast. It has two levels, with the ground sloping down to the east. On the upper level, there are three loft openings, with the left-hand opening situated in a weatherboarded section above a wide entry. There is a plain boarded door on the ground floor to the right. This structure is part of the Lower Spoad farmstead and is included for its group value.
