Description

Bryndrinog Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-17th century. It features a timber frame set on a rubble plinth, with wattle and daub infill panels and an asbestos slate roof. The building has a baffle entry plan consisting of two framed bays and a flush gabled cross wing to the left. It is one storey high with an attic. A central brick ridge stack is present, along with a raking eaves-dormer on the right that contains a four-light casement window. The ground floor has mid to late 19th-century casements, including a two-light window and a three-light window, with the left ground floor window featuring a transom and small panels. There is a boarded door located beneath the stack to the right of the gable. The farmhouse exhibits square panel framing, with three panels up to the wall plate, and a truss in the front gable that has four struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex. Lean-tos are present on each side of the building. To the left, there is a lower mid-19th-century wing that is set back, featuring a rendered frame, a coursed rubble end wall, a slate roof, and a stack at the rear. The cross wing projects to the rear and is made of stone, with a catslide lean-to beyond. The farmhouse is situated in a very picturesque setting by the River Clun.
