Description
Noddle Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and has rendered wattle and daub infill, although some of this has been replaced by brick and breeze block. The roof is pantiled, with a black glazed finish on the front. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring a central panelled door and two sash windows on each floor, which were added in 1983. The roof is gabled with a bell shape and has a ridge stack positioned over the door. There is a large outshut added to the rear in 1983, along with late 20th-century windows.
Inside, the timber frame remains intact. The west ground floor room has a bridging beam with two sunk quadrant mouldings and raised diamond stops. There is a 4-light ovolo mullioned window with diamond section subsidiary mullions. Another bridging beam on the ground floor features chamfers and diamond stud and tongue stops. A second 4-light mullioned window, similar to the first, is located in the north room on the first floor. The roof structure includes principals, collars, two tiers of butt purlins, and curved windbracing.
