Description
Chequers Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed with a timber frame and rendered wattle and daub infill on a brick plinth, topped with a thatched roof. The building features a lobby entrance plan and consists of one storey with a dormer attic. A 20th-century door is located to the right of the centre, flanked by a 20th-century casement window on each side, all of which are covered by drip hoods. The gabled roof has a gabled pantiled dormer above the door, which contains a late 18th-century casement window. There is a ridge stack, and a pantiled outbuilding made of flint and brick extends to the west. The north gable wall has been rebuilt in brick, while the south gable features a drip shelf. The interior frame consists of thin scantling, which is mostly hidden from view.
