Description
Moneypot Farm House is a house that was originally built around 1600 and later altered in the 19th century. It features a timber frame that is plastered, with a steeply pitched roof covered in both pantiles and machine tiles. The house has a three-cell plan, which was likely originally designed with a cross entry but has since been modified to include a lobby entry. It stands two storeys high, with the lobby entrance located slightly to the left of the center. The windows consist of one and two-light glazing bar casements, all equipped with hoodboards, and above the entrance is a three-light diamond mullioned window. There is an axial ridge stack positioned to the left of center between the hall and parlour, with its cap having been rebuilt. The gable end features lean-to outshuts made of clay lump. At the rear, there is a boarded cross entry door and a lean-to brick oven outshut.
Inside, the hall contains a bar stop chamfered axial binding beam, while the parlour has a stop chamfered cross axial binding beam and storey posts. The joists are run-out chamfered, and the walls exhibit reverse cranked arched bracing. The house also has chamfered cambered tie beams and edge halved scarf joints in the chamfered wall plates. The roof is a clasped purlin design with cranked windbraces, which has been altered at the parlour end.
