Description

REDGRAVE THE STREET (NORTH EAST TM 07 NW SIDE) 1/91 Red House 29.7.55 -- II House. Early C19, altered C20. Red brick. Slate roof. 3 bays. 2 storeys. Ground floor: central entrance with 4 stone steps up to a recessed, part raised, 6 fielded panelled door, semi-rounded reeded surround with a modillioned cornice, rectangular traceried fanlight, gauged brick flat arched head; flanking recessed tripartite glazing bar sashes with gauged brick flat arched heads. First floor has 3 similar 4:8 pane sashes. Offset plinth, modillioned eaves cornice. External end stacks with triple offsets. Right end ground floor dummy window opening, towards rear a second stack in a C20 1 storey addition. Lower eaves to rear which is whitewashed with C20 casements and a canted bay window. Interior: dogleg staircase with slat balusters, turned newel posts, moulded handrail.
