Description
No. 76 Abbey Foregate is a house dating from around 1840, although it includes parts of an earlier building. The exterior is finished in stucco and topped with a Welsh slate roof. The house is three stories tall and has a two-window range. On the left side, there is a four-panelled door set within a moulded architrave that features console brackets, with a passage entry to the right. The ground floor has a single four-pane sash window, while the first floor has two sash windows above it, and there is a single two-light casement window in the attic. A sill band runs beneath the first-floor windows. At the rear, there is a wall stack, and the exposed timber roof truss in the west gable wall, along with the 18th-century brickwork of the stack, indicates that there are significant remnants of the earlier structure.
