Description
No. 30 Old Elvet is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features a stucco exterior on a plinth and has a Welsh slate roof with a brick chimney. The building is three storeys high and has two bays. There is a plain passage entrance on the right, and to the left, a four-panel door set in a quasi-classical surround. Between the two is a 16-pane sash window with a stone sill, while the upper floors have 9-pane sash windows. The first floor has an inserted bowed glazed door at the centre, which includes an overlight and an entablature above. This door opens onto a full-width balcony with a palmette pattern, supported by long brackets. The roof is low-pitched with bracketed eaves and a chimney at the left end.
