Description
This is a house located at 69 Abbey Foregate in Shrewsbury, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of brick and has a plain tiled roof. The building stands two storeys high with an attic and features a five-window range. The doorway is situated in the gable wall, possibly indicating a truncated rear wing. It has a moulded architrave with scrolled console brackets. The gable includes a window with three fixed lights and a 12-pane sash window, while at a lower level, there are blocked earlier windows on each side, one of which retains remains of a wood mullion and transom. The front elevation displays 12-pane sash windows with flat-arched gauged brick heads on each floor. Some of these windows are blind, and one has been replaced by a 4-pane sash window. The house has gable and axial stacks.
