Description

The Powell Memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 5½ metres southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Mary in Llanfair Waterdine. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of sandstone ashlar. The tomb features a moulded plinth and fluted pilasters that flank sunken side panels. The end panels are raised with reeded edges, and there is a moulded cornice on the flat top. On the south panel, there is a lightly incised semi-circular plaque decorated with husks, set within a rectangular border that has radial top corners.
