Description

The Powell memorial is a chest tomb located about 12 meters southwest of the lychgate in the churchyard of the Church of All Saints. It dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, with the earliest readable inscription dating to 1822 on the north side. The tomb is made of sandstone and features a tent top with a moulded capping and a frieze below. It has a high moulded plinth on a stone base, adorned with gadrooned quarter balusters. Inscriptions can be found on all sides of the tomb. The long sides are decorated with moulded rectangular panels that have concave corners, each carrying a single shell motif.
