Description
The Powell family monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, approximately 12 meters northeast of the chancel. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat-chamfered plinth and has a fielded inscription panel on the north side dedicated to Elizabeth Powell, daughter of William Powell, who died in 1800. The south side has a similar inscription panel for Charles Powell, who died in 1831. The west end includes an inscription for Ann Powell, wife of William Powell, who died around 1822. There is also an almost illegible inscription on the east end. The tomb is capped with a moulded margin and has a stepped and hipped upper capping stone.
