Description

The Powell monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 8 meters south of the chancel of the Church of the Holy Cross. It dates from 1828 and is made of sandstone. The tomb is rectangular with bow ends, each featuring an oval panel and a fluted frieze. The side panels are oval and adorned with floral carvings in the spandrels. It has a moulded top and plinth, and it is inscribed to Joseph Powell, who died in 1828.
