Description
The monument to Thomas Powell is located in the churchyard, approximately one metre southeast of the vestry of the Church of St Mary. This chest tomb dates from the late 18th century and is made of sandstone. It features a very tall structure set on a high plinth, with a richly moulded top that has a moulded edge. The tomb includes broad quarter balusters and sunk moulded panels on its moulded base. The plinth is situated on a platform that was formerly enclosed by a railing. The earliest legible inscription on the tomb is dated 1837, although it is likely that the tomb itself was created in the late 18th century.
