Description
The Greyhound is an inn dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features a rendered exterior with some sandstone rubble in the back wing, a roof covered with glazed double Roman tiles, and brick gable stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the long arm running uphill along Naas Lane. It is two storeys tall, with part of the building having a basement. The front has three windows, which are 12-pane sashes set in broad surrounds with stone cills. There is a plank door leading to the cellar on the left, and the main entrance is a plank door in a deep reveal with a plat-band surround and a very small light above it. In the gable at ground floor level, there is a two-light casement window with glazing bars. The extended wing is also two storeys tall and has four windows, along with two plank doors, all set under brick segmental arches. A late 20th-century extension to the right of the main front is not of special interest.
