Description
The Twyfords is a farmhouse located in West Felton, likely dating from the 16th or 17th century, with later additions and alterations. The building features a rendered timber frame set on a rendered brick plinth, topped with a slate roof that has a red brick stack positioned behind the ridge to the right of center. It stands two storeys high with irregular window arrangements. There are four 19th-century casements, each with three lights, located directly below the eaves, along with three segmental-headed casements on the ground floor—two to the left and one to the right of the entrance. A 19th-century lean-to porch, adorned with green-glazed ceramic tiles at the corners, leads to a six-panel inner door, of which the upper panels are now glazed. Although the interior could not be inspected during the resurvey in May 1986, it is reported to have chamfered ceiling beams and a largely intact timber frame.
