Description

The Firs is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 17th century to the early 18th century, with an extension added in the early 20th century. It features a timber frame that is cased and rendered in brick, topped with a slate roof and brick stacks. The building has a rectangular plan oriented east to west and stands two storeys tall.

The south elevation displays a combination of window styles, including two windows on the left and one on the right, with mid-20th century casements in the timber-framed sections and three-light early 20th century casements in the right part, the uppermost of which is set in a half-dormer. There are two entrances on the right side of the building; the first is accessed through a glazed early 20th century gabled porch, while the second is sheltered by a bracketed canopy.

On the rear elevation facing north, some timber framing is exposed. Inside, the ceiling beams on the ground floor feature straight-cut and lamb's tongue run-out chamfer stops.
