Description
This former barn, located approximately 20 metres east of Lower Broughton Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century or 18th century and is now used as a store. It is constructed with a timber frame and features weatherboarding, an uncoursed rubble plinth, and a corrugated iron roof. The barn has four framed bays and stands two storeys tall. The framing consists of square panels with angle braces. Notable features include four boarded loft doors, two ground floor two-leaf boarded doors, and several ground floor casement windows. Inside, there are trenched double purlins, windbraces, queen strut roof trusses with V-struts above, and a 19th-century inserted floor.
