Description
5 and 7 Lower Raven Lane are 18th-century houses located in Ludlow. They are constructed of stone rubble and feature a steeply pitched plain tile roof with brick ridge stacks. The buildings are two stories high, with an attic and cellar, and have a five-window range. The windows are 18th-century, two-light casements with glazing bars, set under timber lintels. There are three dormers, two of which were restored in the 20th century.
No. 5 has a central entrance that features a recessed 20th-century battened plank door with a light, flanked by two-light casements, with an additional smaller casement to the right. No. 7 has its entrance to the right, which includes a 19th-century plank door with an overlight that has glazing bars, and to the left, there is a 19th-century two-light casement under an oak lintel. The cellar is accessed through a semi-circular brick arch. These houses are included for their group value.
