Description
Nos 78 and 79 are two houses from the 18th century, possibly with origins in the 17th century. They are built of rubble stone and have a concrete tile roof. The buildings are two storeys tall and have an L-shaped plan. No 78, located at the north end with a north stack, is the earlier of the two but has completely altered window openings. It features two 20th-century windows on each floor, which are set under 19th-century brick cambered heads, along with a central door. No 79, to the left, is likely from the mid-18th century and is constructed of squared rubble stone with a roof that is hipped at the southeast angle. Its windows are in raised moulded surrounds, including a one-window range of 12-pane sashes on the east side, with a door to the right that has a hood supported by scroll brackets, and a two-window range on the south side with 19th-century sashes. No 78 is included for its group value.
